Solaro Estate is the culmination of generations of winemaking and passion for creating only the finest wines. The Solaro”S” stands not just for Solaro, the ancient residence of their family in Italy, but also the shape of Austin’s own Barton Creek as its waters border their Estate. The Estate has been in the family since 1909 as a working, self-sufficient farm dedicated to agriculture. With rocky soil and Texas heat, they knew the ultimate use of the family land would be vineyards. Inspired by Barbara’s roots in Franconia, Germany, and Robert’s close ties to his wine-making relatives in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, they got to work making their dream a reality. The Estate vineyards you see today are the result of detailed planning and using the most ultra-modern equipment and finest technology. The winery was specifically designed to maximize the production of limited quantities of complex and exquisite wines.
